What the Program offers
Universidade Católica Portuguesa, with the support of Porticus, launches the 2025 edition of the Post-Doctoral Program in Integral Human Development. There are seven fellowships for young PhDs in all areas of scientific knowledge, inspired by the desire to change the way we look at poverty, inequality and development.
The Integral Human Development Program aims to welcome post-doctoral fellows who wish to develop work related to Integral Human Development, referred to as IHD.
With a core applied practice, the program aims to work on knowledge and policies on these issues, measure evidence of their impact, and implement innovative practices.
Inspired by the encyclical Laudato Si', the program's pillar is the promotion of a more humane society, where integral development means promoting the whole person; it means promoting the common good in all individual and community dimensions. The program will pay special attention to the peripheries, fragilities and vulnerabilities of contemporary Portuguese society.
