Mónica Soares

Bio

Mónica Soares is currently a researcher in the Postdoctoral Program in Integral Human Development at CADOS. With a PhD in Human Rights in Contemporary Societies (CES-UC), she also holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology – specializing in Psychology of Justice and Deviant Behavior (FEP-UCP). She is currently a guest lecturer in the Integrated Master's in Psychology and the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program in Human Rights at FEP-UCP. 

Since 2012, as a researcher and/or scholarship holder, she has participated in various scientific projects at University of Coimbra (CES-UC), Universidade Católica Portuguesa (FEP-UCP), and University of Minho (School of Psychology & CICP). Her research interests focus on social movements and collective action, critical theory, political participation and subjectivity, moral psychology, psychology of justice, justice policies (with special attention to juvenile justice and gender), feminist studies, and utopian studies. 

As a visiting researcher and lecturer, she has also collaborated with the Institute of Social and Human Sciences (ICSyH) at the Benemérita Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP, Mexico, 2018-2022), the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences at the National University of La Plata (Argentina, 2020), and the Center for Community Studies at the Marta Abreu University of Las Villas (CEC-UCLV, Cuba, 2016-2017).
