Helga Martins is a Fellow researcher at the Postdoctoral Program in Integral Human Development at the Católica Doctoral School. Since 2022, she is an Invited Adjunct Professor at the Institute Polytechnic of Beja. She also holds a PhD in Nursing at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She is an integrated researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Health, Universidade Católica Portuguesa.  

She has published articles in specialized journals and book chapters. She has received several national and international awards. Her research focuses on spirituality in chronic patients and vulnerable populations.
