Alexandra Pereira is a PostDoc researcher at the DHI Program and holds a PhD in Sociology from ISEG (University of Lisbon) with a thesis entitled "Transborder Himalaya - Processes of Transnationalism in Nepalese Entrepreneurs and Workers in Lisbon" (2019). She also holds a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from FPCE (University of Coimbra), was a research assistant at ISCTE-IUL and is part of IMISCOE/MigrationResearchHub. A sociology researcher (migration) and clinical psychologist who has collaborated with migrant associations in Finland, UK and Portugal, she is currently involved in investigating issues related to gender discrimination in Nepalese migrants. Her research interests include: Nepalese in Portugal and Europe, Feminism and Migrant Women, Transnationalism, Human Trafficking, Labor Exploitation, Migration Governance and Migrant Entrepreneurs. She is a member of APS (Portuguese Sociology Association) and OPP (Portuguese Psychologists Order).
