There are seven new research fellows in Integral Human Development. Universidade Católica Portuguesa is reinforcing its commitment to research projects through social implementation.

The launch of the projects was presided by the Rector of Universidade Católica. Isabel Capeloa Gil urged the researchers to be “proudly unaligned” in the search for true and integral development through their research.

The President of Cáritas and member of the committee that selects the projects, Rita Valadas, stressed the importance of transferring knowledge from universities to the field. The opening ceremony was also attended by Peter Hanenberg, Coordinator of the Postdoctoral Program and Vice-Rector for Research and Doctoral Education, as well as José Manuel Pereira de Almeida, Vice-Rector for Social Responsibility, Inclusion and Pastoral Affairs.

The Integral Human Development program aims to offer research grants, accompanied by transversal training and interdisciplinary group work. Since 2022, the University has supported 20 projects through this program, in partnership with Porticus.

This year, 7 new projects with a global focus on politics and human rights are starting.
