Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), with the support of Porticus, is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2027 edition of the Postdoctoral Programme in Integral Human Development. Applications will be accepted from 1 October to 15 December 2026, and the programme is scheduled to begin in February 2027.

Designed for early-career researchers from all scientific disciplines, the programme welcomes research projects that contribute to a broader and more integrated understanding of contemporary challenges related to poverty, inequality, and human development. Inspired by the encyclical Laudato Si’ and the concept of Integral Human Development, the programme promotes innovative approaches capable of generating knowledge, informing public policies, and creating meaningful social impact.

Five postdoctoral fellowships will be awarded to outstanding young researchers, who will become part of the international Talents for Good network, dedicated to advancing justice, peace, the common good, and more humane and sustainable models of development.

In addition to financial support for research, fellows will benefit from academic mentoring, collaborative research environments, and interdisciplinary training in areas such as Ethics, Leadership, Communication, and Media Training, while carrying out their work at the Lisbon campus of the Catholic University of Portugal.
