Candace Vogler, Professor at the University of Chicago, is the guest speaker at the Eutopos Conference "On the Significance of Being Vicious", organised by Brotéria in partnership with CADOS, UCP.
Taking place on December 16th, from 4pm to 5.30pm, the conference will be held at Brotéria in Lisbon and proposes to critically examine the moral dimensions of virtue and vice within our contemporary society. Does every manifestation of virtue bear an irrational aspect? Similarly, does every facet of vice lack rationality? Can we formulate sustainable methodologies for the enhancement of personal and collective refinement, societal advancement, physical well-being, cognitive acumen and political astuteness?
This session is part of a cycle of three conferences centred on the topics of the "search for good agriculture", the "search for beauty" and the "study of what helps us progress in our moral life as a result of community involvement."
