Linda Koncz is a Postdoc researcher at the DHI Program and is a PhD candidate in Culture Studies at UCP with a thesis entitled 'Languages of Imagination: Films and Dreams'. She analysed the influence of cinema on dreams. She collected hundreds of interviews from people describing what they had dreamt at night and co-created 'Dreampire', an audiovisual archive of dreams.
She comes from a background in cinema; she holds a Master's degree in Film Making from Kingston University (London) and another Master's degree in Film Theory and Film History from ELTE University (Budapest). She believes in an interdisciplinary approach between the arts and academia, and that visual storytelling should be part of academic research.
In her postdoctoral research, she focuses on the migrant population of Lisbon and video interviews migrants from different nationalities and social statuses. She investigates the sociocultural aspects of the migrants' integration process in Portugal.
She is also the co-director of Festival de Cinema na Casa, a non-profit film festival in Lisbon.
