Maria Alexandra d'Araújo is a fellow of the Postdoctoral Program in Integral Human Development (DHI) at Universidade Católica Portuguesa.She is a researcher at the CIIS - Center for Interdisciplinary Interdisciplinary Health Research Center of Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Her research area focuses on the contributions of Leisure to IHD, Active Ageing and Positive Ageing. She has a PhD in Social Policy (2022), funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) with reference SFRH/BD/132490/2017, at ISCSP - University of Lisbon. University of Lisbon. She holds a Master's degree in Social Policy from the same Institution, and has an Executive Master in Applied Positive Psychology. She is a mentor and promoter of the Lavrar o Tempo project, which through Leisure contributes to the training of professionals to promote the dignity of the human person in late ages. From 2010 to 2019 she was responsible for an action-research project with the objective of social reintegration of elderly women through Leisure, from the Positive Psychology approach. She is a consultant in the Inter-Council Working Group of Capacity Building in the Area of Aging, of EAPN Núcleo de Évora.
