101 on Social Entrepreneurship

Social entrepreneurs are a driving force for societal change and business innovation, creating exciting ventures that align both profit and impact. What do social entrepreneurs do that is unique, and why do they succeed in addressing profound societal problems in areas where governments, markets, and charities fail? How is Social Entrepreneurship distinct from traditional entrepreneurship, and what are their motivations, and the unique traits that make them unique in their approach? What are the distinctive features and elements of social entrepreneurs and impact ventures? How are impact ventures built?

In this session, you will be introduced to the essential constituent elements of Social Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation. A field that has been growing and mainstreaming for the last 20 years but still presents a great variety of challenges and research topics. Furthermore, because it is an expanding subject that is transversal to the primary vital challenges of social and environmental problems, it still has a very diverse set of areas to be deepened and explored—an exciting and inspiring adventure on the topics that concern different sectors and segments of society.
