The Católica Doctoral School – CADOS, is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the First-Time Researchers Academy, which will take place in Lisbon from 17 to 21 November 2025, with a follow-up online session scheduled for January 2026. This initiative is open to all PhD students from UCP and from partner universities within the Transform4Europe Alliance (T4EU).
The week-long trainnings marks the first edition of the joint doctoral training program entitled “First-Time Researcher Academy”, developed under the T4EU Early-Stage Researchers Experts, coordinated by CADOS. The program has been designed to foster the academic and professional development of early-stage researchers across the Alliance, offering a multidisciplinary training experience that brings together doctoral students and young researchers from different fields and institutions.
Over the course of five days in Lisbon, participants will engage in intensive training sessions, seminars and workshops focused on transversal competencies essential to high-quality research. Topics will include research ethics and integrity, the impact of AI on scientific practice, academic writing and publishing, leadership, open science, and project development using the Idea Puzzle methodology, among others. The program also includes networking opportunities, guidance on building research collaborations, and practical tools for data analysis and communication. An additional online component in January 2026 will offer further flexibility and continuity to the participants’ learning paths.
Registrations for the 2025 edition in Lisbon are open until October 31st, 2025.
